is a renowned contemporary painter with roots in Berlin, Hamburg, and Copenhagen. Shaped by a rigorous education at the HFBK Hamburg and decades of experience as an art director, his artistic work is characterized by a subtle language of "quiet tones" and masterful composition.
Education at the HFBK Hamburg and the Copenhagen years
The Berlin-born artist completed his art studies (8 semesters) at the prestigious University of Fine Arts (HFBK) in Hamburg. He subsequently worked for international advertising agencies as an art director. In the 1970s, he moved his center of life to Copenhagen, where for many years he played a key role in shaping the visual appearance of major Danish and international campaigns.
With the changing landscape of the media world, Steffen Kindt decided to dedicate his visual skills entirely to fine art. Since his first public exhibition in 1989, he has worked as a professional freelance painter.
Recognition and international exhibitions
His inclusion in the juried Danish autumn exhibition "Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling" (KE) garnered significant attention. Frederik Lindskov, chairman of the KE board, praised Kindt's work with the words: "Anyone who gets their work through the selection process can rightly call themselves an artist, because the committee, representing the art scene, is a highly trained community."
Steffen Kindt has presented his artworks across Europe, with a particular focus on Scandinavia. His most important exhibition venues include:
- Denmark & Scandinavia: Aarhus Kunsthal, Nordic Salon in Helsingborg, as well as exhibitions in Sweden and Norway
- Germany: Forum for Art and Architecture (Essen), Berliner Liste (Berlin)
- International: No Barking Art Biennale (London), France, and the Netherlands
