Britta Kröger

The poetry of the North and the moment in nature

Portrait of the North German artist and painter Britta Kröger

Capturing nature in all its facets, moods, and light-filled moments on canvas – that is the central mission of North German artist Britta Kröger. Raised and based in the vast landscape between the seas, she finds her primary inspiration in the immediate surroundings: from the rugged beauty of the North Sea and the gentle coasts of the Baltic Sea to the maritime backdrop of the Hamburg Elbe. However, local forests and meadows, flooded with special sunlight, also repeatedly captivate her.

Another key focus of Britta Kröger’s work lies in sensitive animal portraits, in which she brings out the essence and character of her subjects with palpable empathy.

Style & Technique

Britta Kröger’s works are predominantly executed in high-quality acrylic paint on canvas. Her paintings are characterized by a clear compositional structure, vivid color contrasts, and a fine sense for lighting moods. As the side edges of the canvases are always carefully painted, the unique pieces can be hung directly without an additional frame.

Artistic Career & Awards

Drawing and painting have been Britta Kröger’s constant companions since her youth. Alongside targeted artistic training – including art lessons with Tanja Gott – she has largely acquired her technical precision and characteristic style through self-study. She has been an active member of the Kunstkreis Norderstedt e.V. (Norderstedt Art Circle) since 2018.

Her artistic quality was recognized internationally at an early stage:

  • 1st Prize Landscape (Beginner Category): Artists Network Annual Competition (2017)
