Tides misaligned

Tides misaligned – Fine Art Photography by Malte Lüdemann

Strictly limited Fine Art photography (15 editions) | Available on matte Alu-Dibond or glossy acrylic glass | Incl. Certificate of Authenticity

Discover "Tides misaligned," an exceptionally painterly work of contemporary photographic art by Hamburg-based photographer Malte Lüdemann. Captured in Hamburg, this piece depicts the tidal currents of the Elbe in a flowing, almost textile-like abstraction—a calming work of art reflecting the subtle shifts and rhythms of the water.

The Artwork:

In this delicate long-exposure shot, Malte Lüdemann completely dissolves the physical boundaries of the water. The surface of Hamburg’s Elbe river transforms into a dense network of velvety, almost woven structures of color and light. A horizontal fracture line runs through the piece, marking the titular displacement of the current ("misaligned"). The fascinating color harmony of warm antique rose, velvety mauve, copper, and deep, shadowy violets and browns is reminiscent of precious silk fabrics or abstract painting. A timeless composition that lends gentle warmth and meditative tranquility to any room.
